True Blue American Birthday

He married his high school sweetheart

They were together sixty years

Then one day God said they must part

A loving couple's dreaded fears


With four Children and nine grandkids

And twenty three great-grandchildren

His love for them never forbids

Sweet memories remember when


For six years in US Navy

Two years was in Coast Guard Reserves

At Navapai, so much he'd see

 He lived with such courageous nerves


He was a police officer

From San Diego, the PD

For thirty years, his duty tour

Now writes it in his poetry


Today Willie turns eighty six

Our hats off to an awesome guy

This man has seen many conflicts

A life lived to exemplify


Now Willie lives in Idaho

Has written many children's books

For those of you who want to know
