This work has reached the exceptional level
A poem

Moments linger

by Jesse James Doty

 
A lingering moment
 
Crystalizes from within
 
Creating a cherished memory
 
Tenderly placed on my lover's skin
 
 
It will be savored forever
 
A keepsake to hold on one's sleeve
 
When the ending is near
 
And both hearts need to grieve
 
 
He went on his way, while I stayed here
 
Goodbye my friend, no more tears to fear
 
I haven't lost, only love to gain
 
The truth remains, and there's no more pain
