A three~day weekend holiday
The end of all the summer play
It's one last chance to get away
And this last fling is Labor Day
They'll pack the kids, the dog and boat
And all the things that help them float
No television or remote
And they hope they won't need a coat
With water far as they can see
It's fun to fish, tube, swim and ski
They'll make it a big fun party
Their one weekend that is work-free
A picnic and a barbecue
Potato salad, chicken too
There's paper plates, no glass will do
Some water, pop, and beer~a few
Great memories that they'll make then
When camped in the North Wood's PlayPen
For so many women and men
Tuesday, go back, to work again
