A Merry~go~Rhyme for Sally and Jack Law

One Year to Gold

by Debi Pick Marquette

When they were both in Junior High, Sally and Jack would meet

They never guessed someday they'd date, and life would be so sweet

A senior high romance they'd have, then Jack would graduate

And three plus years they planned before they'd see their wedding date

In the beginning, they'd have laughed if anyone had told

That 49 years was a blink, and was so close to gold

He'd graduate from college, Jack was youth pastor at church

This was his first position, his preacher had done the search

They found this one was not for them, no matter what the case

When they left Buffalo, New York, they'd find a warmer place

A slip on ice turned tragic, lost their baby to the cold

But God gave them more children, which made them richer than gold

So, then they moved to Florida, Orlando area

Their newborn, Jared made parents of Jack and Sally Law

Next Aaron, then Adam was born, a happy family

And Sally learned that she would lose ability to see

Their devotion and love are reasons they will Never fold

Love measured by commitment is more beautiful than gold

The boys grew up and Aaron would take Crystal for his bride

And kids, Joshua, the twins, Caleb and Tyler by their side

Then Esther Grace went with the angels as they left this earth

Next came Sophia, granddaughter, a welcomed first girl birth

But they'll reach 50, long before the time that they get old

God brought them both this far, of course He'll carry them to gold

Now Adam has Nichole, yet we don't know what is their plan

And Sally still is mesmerized by Jack, her loving man

We wish them both a Very Happy Anniversary

And we all know they have the kind of love that's meant to be

So, next year's Half a Century, with love that they behold

Congrats to our Sally and Jack, Next Year will be Pure GOLD
