Sometimes Love

Sometimes love is a banquet feast.
Sometimes it's pleain beans in a can.
Sometimes love is breath-taking views.
Sometimes it is dry desert sand.
 
 
Love doesn't have to be perfect
to be perfect love that survives.
Banquet or beans, still we survive
'cause our love is always alive.

Valentine Love Poem contest entry


The only perfect love is from God. He IS love. What a generous and beautiful gift He gives His creation!
The thought of a banquet or a can of beans describes both the gighs and the lows of married life. But without the 'beans', how do we truly appreciate the banquet? For me, a 'perfect love' is one that lasts through both of those times.
