Above all, one thing makes life complete
You
A universe without its stars grows cold,
and so becomes a dark and empty void.
Without a melody a song can't flow,
a spoken clutch of words without a tune.
The ship without a rudder runs aground,
as countless rocky graveyards testify.
No meal is at its best if it should lack
the seasoning to bring its flavor forth.
You are the starlight in my darkest nights
and guide my path wherever it may lead.
Your music is a salve unto my soul;
it calms me when my heart is sore oppressed.
The course is clear whenever you are near;
the channel safe when you are at the helm.
You are the spice that makes my life a feast
of tasty treats and succulent delights.
Whatever challenges this life may bring,
I'll meet them all when you are by my side.
