What Will I Do Around the Farm

what will I do around our farm
where we shared sweat and tears working the land planting seeds of love and harvesting an honest life .

farming in the sun day after day
making love by the moon night after night getting up at dawn and going to bed at dusk .
.

.
what will I do without your gazeyour eyes are darkened by death your ashes scattered by our tree where our initials and hearts are carved on the oak's skin .

.
.
now the celestial domecovers your life's embers with millions of stars and our land's boulders are your burial stones .
.
.
.
now I lie alone on our cold bed wondering what will I do around our farm
what will I do without your gaze what will I do without your rough hands  |
