Rejection

Received another rejection

Everything crumbles inside my head

Joy will never be an emotion for me

Eyes feel like they are burning holes inside of me,

Critics are like that, getting pleasure in tearing me down

Things could be different, if only my talent wasn’t lost

I cannot think, I’ve come undone

Oh, to be like all the others who don’t know what rejection means

Never again, I cannot face the rejection, my stories will die with me

Not getting a literary agent and not getting good reviews makes me question why I even bother writing in the first place. I decided to write this poem but I'm feeling really discouraged to write another poem or chapter in my novel. I'm not looking for sympathy here. Just felt the need to express myself to others.
