This is very interesting about the Munsters! I always enjoyed watching them. You used very good descriptive words and it was so neat you got to meet Butch Patrick. I always liked the normal niece! lol Great post. Blessings, Teri

Another interesting essay on the Munsters, another one of those slapstick shows on tv that we watched after school during the week. Lots of interesting facts here, particularly about how some of these so well known personalities passed away. Fred Gwynne was a pretty good comedic actor, he also appeared wonderfully as the tough southern judge in My Cousin Vinny. He was hilarious in that role. Al Lewis was one of those classic vaudeville type Jewish comedians, who became pretty well known in New York. Not too many people know he made a guest appearance on Lost in Space as the alien magician who tricks Dr. Smith into a booby trapped flight back to Earth. estory

This is an excellent story about the Munsters show I used to love the Munsters show when I was a little girl. Every character made me last a lot especially Herman Monster. Excellent rating thank you for sharing this.
A note:
Munster's
There should be no apostrophe, even in the title.
Alex :)

This is an excellent tribute to the Munster's television series of the 60s. I enjoyed watching it especially later in syndication and yet I never thought of the implications of them sharing their attitudes on pop culture and society in general of the 60s. I was surprised to find out that the actors thought of it as a philosophical television series.
Now that I think of it, I did agree with its tenets that people are people no matter what color or creed they are. I am now a bigger fan than before thanks to you, Harry.

I learned a lot about the TV show by reading this article. I remember when it came on, but I never actually watched it. At the time, I thought it was a type of horror comedy. I now understand what the show was about. Thank you for sharing this nostalgic information.

HI there,
Yep, The Munsters was a great show. We watched in the UK in the 80s. It did what a lot of Sci-fi did and still does, provide social commentary in an 'alien' setting.
Munsters doesn't need an apostrophe.
"We could do a lot of satirical things on society that you couldn't do on an ordinary show. - need closing speech marks here.
Good stuff

I enjoyed this article a lot.
It brought back a lot of fond memories for me, as I used to love the Munsters as well, it was shown as re-runs on TV here in Australia for most of the time that I was growing up and it was always a great watch.
I still catch it from time to time, and reading this made me smile.
