A very well-written twenty line poem about the static atmosphere especially on the political stage where everyone is lying to get into power until they are there then show their real agendas and we are on the losing end.

effective meter, imagery, and rhyme.
-It flows smoothly from verse to verse.
-I like the topic, too.
-These are a few images I like:
"Political half-speak, political spin"
-I also like the references to the
gramophone and "prejudice stuck in a grove."
-A very good concluding verse, too.

Give me the shrill call of the coyote any day as opposed to the static of shocking lies from politicians. Wherever your lair is, it has provided you with the peace and quiet that allows you to pen your insightful thoughts. Much enjoyed this creative and insightful piece.

Hi Tony, wow, this is quite a social and political comment. I would have liked a bit more specifics about the political climate but the imagery is so clever, I had to award a six to this. I really like the double meaning of static being a metaphor for the stars quo.

This is a very clever poetic commentary, with all of its twists and turns -- comparing the sparks of electric static to the electrifying fear which politicians may to use in an attempt to sway the public; then the live static of electricity to the sluggish reluctance of our electoral representatives to consider change; and finally, an escape to nature, where elements of the serene (motionless, static) and the shrill (electric static) are preferable to the unpleasantness of civilization.
