I'm not offended! I really enjoyed reading this - it had me chuckling from start to finish. Your humor about the whole knee replacement process really shines through. I loved how you brought the situation to life with your descriptions. From the red socks to the whole bathroom experience, I couldn't help but laugh along with you. It's refreshing to see someone approach something like surgery with such a light hearted attitude. Wishing you a speedy recovery, and I look forward to reading more of your work when you're feeling up to it! Take care!

Hello Michael,
thanks so much for the delightful review and the well wishes. I suspect that most people experience some degree of humiliation similar to mine, they just don't talk about it. One of my favorite comic strips years ago was the Born Loser, I could always relate.
Have a blessed day.

Feel reassured, Tom, there is nothing remotely offensive about your wonderfully humorous story! You have such a gift for seeing the funny side in everything and making your reader chuckle endlessly at that turtle retreating into its shell (among other gems). And the image of you in the gown and red socks is a delight. As too the plea for the operating staff to perform their work in the nude! Thank you so much, Tom, for sharing another of your thoroughly entertaining stories. I'm wishing you all the very best in your recovery. Take care and keep laughing. Debbie
I don't know if you intended the capital in S(O) and so?

Hello Debbie,
thanks so much for the wonderful review gal. I'm delighted that you enjoyed it. I like to entertain if I can. Yes, I planned the capital in So and So because it kind of took the place of a proper name, at least in my mind. Thanks so much for the well wishes too. With all the good thoughts and prayers coming my way, I'm sure recovery will happen soon. Have a blessed day gal.

LOL, you are in rare form here, Tom! I like how you say you don't want to get too graphic as you are being plenty graphic, LOL!
Don't worry about mentioning your penis, Tom. You only did so in your author's notes, so I guess that doesn't count.
Seriously, I will be thinking of you and praying for a speedy and successful recovery. And get off those pills as soon as you can.
Nighty-night:-)

Hello Pam,
your review had me laughing gal. I guess at times the only thing that separates me from a child, is my age. Sometimes whatever comes to my mind finds its way out of my mouth. I've never been good at the art of finesse. It's in part why I don't like to get too involved with crowds of people who don't know me. I come across as an ignorant, uncouth buffoon, which perhaps I am. I'm just not in the same league as so many more refined folks I guess. In many instances, I find that people can relate to my stories though, they just have more discipline and don't blab about it. As always, I'm delighted to hear from you my friend. I'm supposed to start PT tomorrow, what fun! I covet your prayers.
Have a blessed day.

You poor thing Tom, sorry you have had to have this operation and now that it is all over, the healing begins. I am sure it will be fine after a few days and then you will need to exercise it. Thankfully I have escaped such surgery so far. My Mother had knee replacements and operations to both her ankles! There was a lot of prep work here and some indignity which was unnecessary I think. But we cannot be embarrassed in hospitals because we are just another number on the operating table and they have seen it all before. I hope all goes well with your recovery Tom, take good care of yourself, love Dolly x x x

Hello Dolly,
thanks ever so much for the wonderful and caring review gal. I truly appreciate it. I'm supposed to go in to start physical therapy tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it, but as the saying goes, no pain, no gain. I'm glad that you've escaped some of the issues that have plagued so many others on this site. I know that you take good care of your body. Well done gal.
Have a blessed day.

Hello Helen,
I hope I didn't mention a surgery in the future. The very thought scares me to death. I do have PT tomorrow, which I'm not looking forward to. I'm in a fair bit of pain right now, but I've got some pills to help, and then I'm going to ice the leg. Woo Hoo! Thanks so much for the delightful review gal and the six.
Have a blessed day.

Keep icing it, Tom! You can do this! You've been in bigger challenges before. This is nothing compared to that plane crash! 💖🙏

Oh Tom, we are adults here, so we can take a little body language, LOL, if you get my drift. (Feel free to use one if you wish) Haha.
Great post and as a two year graduate of both knee replacements I have to warn you to keep moving or you will still feel numb spots around the knees for a few years. I know I do. I'm sorry, as I didn't want to be one of those that have to tell about their experience.
So I will just say that I bet you are glad that it is over and I loved the little humor you threw in there to keep us on our toes. Happy healing, my dear friend.
Love, Debi

Hello Debi,
thanks for the great review gal, and the words of wisdom. I'm supposed to go for physical therapy tomorrow, which seems too soon, but, I've got no choice. It's going to hurt before it gets better.
Have a blessed day gal.

Hi Tom,
I didn't know Peter Boyle played Frankenstein. I guess you learn something new every day. Wow, thirteen operations! Are you like the bionic man now? I hope you have good insurance buddy. Thanks for the fine review.
Have a blessed evening.

Well, happy healing. Pain medication does stop the progress as you described. I laughed out loud as you compared it to a ten car pile up that stopped traffic. Your descriptions are unrivaled on site. Seriously, I hope you have a speedy recovery. Gretchen

Thanks so much Gretchen, for both the well wishes and the wonderful review gal. The downside to the laxative is that once it starts, it doesn't want to seem to stop. One doesn't dare fart, for fear that it will require a change of clothes. I believe Gregg Gutfeld likened it once to a train that is pulling in to the station and doesn't even slow down. By the time you realize it's on the way, its too late to catch a seat. I knew you would understand about the pain meds given your profession.
Have a blessed evening gal.

One of the joys of being old this, we can talk about things like this and make people laugh, and you definitely made me laugh, listening to this. I laughed out loud several times as I was listening. I wish you the very best recovery as possible, and may you not have to use the laxative it's too much longer Also don't worry about the shrinkage. You have to have a good man I suppose. Patricia.😂

Hello Patricia,
thanks so much for the wonderful review gal. Yes, getting old does come with some benefits, though one has to search long and hard to find them. What used to simply mortify me to speak of now kind of rolls off my tongue, which may or may not be a good thing. Thanks for the good wishes gal.
Have a blessed evening.

Well your sense of humour is obviously still flowing well, even if nothing else is. I am SO sorry you have had to go through this, and I wish you a very swift and complete recovery. Meantime your experience prompted a wonderful story with your usual dry humour and very vivid imagery (eg the ten car pile -up, and a bowling ball going througha straw. Lol. Very memorable!!
Well done.

Hello Wendy,
thanks so much for the exceptional review gal. I'm glad this resonated with you. I suppose I put off this surgery for a few years in part because I vividly remember how painful the last surgery was. I think it's human nature to avoid pain, but sometimes we have to endure some now in order to keep it getting worse later.
Have a blessed day my friend.
