Hi, Barbara
Well, this is exciting. I mean to get to see a novel developed if I can manage to read all the chapters.
I look forward to it. I've always admired people with breast cancer. Some, like a coworker of mine, work while receiving chemo and radiation. They were more likely to pick up infections and viruses because their immune system was weakened. I could not imagine.
I enjoyed reading your story
Good job. Thank you for sharing.

-Very nice artwork for your story idea. It is well organized with good examples of what you would like to explore in these stories you plan to write. I give you credit for wanting to do it, and sharing. Many people can learn from what some of us either go through or have gone through. They can also be uplifting or even humorous.
It would be interesting learning about your boys, and I would also like to hear about your first graders. I look forward to reading, and I don't think it will be boring. Good luck with your project. I like the quote you shared, too.
This is where the quote came from. I googled it:
Nancy Stephan, "The Truth About Butterflies: A Memoir"

Oh! I am so excited you are going to write this. I used to watch the Military Wives when it was on T.V. I thought it was so interesting. I didn't know my husband when he was in the Coast Guard, but I know him now. Looking forward to reading your stories! love and blessings, Teri

This sounds like a good idea. Being a military wife is different from what most wives live. Being battered by a military man seems to be something so many military couples can't seem to avoid, possibly because of the warrior training. Having four boys is a challenge even if the military has nothing to do with it. I raised three with only a four-year gap in age between the oldest and youngest, and sometimes wondered if I would survive. This is a good idea for a writing project.

Thank you for the kind support. I appreciate it. I wasn't battered in the military; it was before Brian and I were married.

I like true life stories, as they are realistic and honest, and portray the real nitty-gritty, and I think yours sounds like it will make an interesting and insightful book. Don't embellish it, just give it as it was and is. I think authenticity is key. I will be looking forward to reading about the real you.

This sounds like a wonderful book, Barbara! To be honest, I don't like romance books at all but I follow you because you are a good writer and I learn from you. But I think I would love learning more about you. I know you have briefly mentioned about a past abusive relationship and did not really know much about that and the timeline. I also remember you mentioning Germany. I look forward to reading more about you!
One comment:
Basically, a geographic single parent (maybe a "geographically-separated"?) It just sounds odd to me, anyway.

I'm already on board. I live hearing true to life stories. I love to know what shapes a person, how they manage to get through tough times and even good times. Some do so with grace and others chalk it up to learning as we go. This was a wonderful announcement. That's how I treat Pharmacy tales. One day I'm going to wrap them all up and put in a book form. But I'm ready to read about your life. Gretchen

I think this is a novel idea. (Yeah, ya see what I did there? I have no shame.)
I would be all in I. This series. I was in the military man side of the issue and always wondered how families pulled it off.
Give it a shot!

Goodness, Barbara, if that's a boring life, I don't know what mine would be called! It seems pretty full-on to me. Raising 4 rowdy sons is enough of a challenge and you touch on other issues which sound interesting and with great potential for expansion.
Small edit: Another topic will be living ab(r)oad (unless you were on the high seas:))
Looking forward to reading more. Debbie

I want to read anything you put out. Your life experiences are so interesting and would translate well to a connected novel. All except the abuse. I'm so sorry you had to undergo that. My wife laid the law done when we married and I never wanted to live life without her by my side.
