I didn't realize I missed this chapter. So much happened here. Carol's engagement and the World Fair that you had on your bucket list. It all turned out well. Your mother's remission was a miracle or the doctor was dead wrong.

Thanks for going back and reading this one. Yes, it seemed like a lot was happening back then. I was so relieved the doctor could find no indication of cancer in Mom.

I wish I had seen this post right off the bat. I got to your last post first... The World's Fair sounds interesting. I would have taken the river boat ride. What a great diary!

Exciting stuff! That World Fair sounds fabulous and it's wonderful that you got to experience it multiple times.
Praise God for that miracle He did for your mom. I've heard about that strange diet with kale and greens. Sometimes, I guess it works. None of the oncologists I've met think that dietary changes fight cancer.

Your twins are so interesting. Don connected with both Carol and Christi and acted like a caring brother to both. I hope that everyone can make it to the wedding. One always worries about such a big decision for our kids.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. It was pretty amazing about Mom. I don't if it was the diet or not. I've heard we all have cancer cells in body at times and sometimes we never realize it. The treatment is sometimes worse that the disease.

That was certainly a busy time. Are we ever happy with our children's choice of mates? The important thing is their happiness. We can't live their lives for them. This was interesting. I was thinking Olympics at first then it finally sunk in, World Fair! Well done Beth. Have a lovely week. Nancy:)

Thank you for the review and comments. You are right. We can't live our children's lives for them. i guess we stop ourselves for worrying about them either. I'm sure my parents worried about me as well.

Interesting , was wondering the feeling of the parents of the groom. They were solid family. I can relate to the W-fair. Was at the New York worlds fair in 64.
You did good with this. I can see your husband biting his nails. LOL. Girls are harder to raise than boys.

Thank you for the review and comment. His parents really liked Carol. Glen wasn't perfect for her. He was very materialistic and a lot less spiritual that she was at the time. Their all easier to raise when they are very young. I think we worry more about the girls.

It seems that 1984 was an important year for your family. Would Carol really marry her fiance, or would she change her mind? You sound as if it was a done deal. It's sad that your husband's brother-in-law, Wayne, died suddenly. I think that will happen less and less often, as people monitor their conditions more carefully, but back then, I don't think we had as much technology to keep track of it.

Here are the errors I found, with suggested revisions:

Mary Kay, you are amazing. You really need to get a paying job editing. You have eagle eyes. Thank you so much for the wonderful review, comments and corrections. I post the about the wedding next. Maybe Monday. It wasn't a match made in Heaven, unfortunately.

Oh, Beth, I'm so sorry it didn't work out for Carol. It sounds as if the decision was a bit hasty. Sometimes young people feel compelled to pair up at a young age, before they're ready. But that was years ago, wasn't it ...
As for my editing skills, thank you very much! I'm really more comfortable proofreading, and I'm starting to do a little freelance work.
God bless you, my friend. Hope you enjoyed your Christmas. Have a safe and Happy New Year! Love, Mary Kay

Carol was married nine years and part of the years weren't that bad. I did have a good Christmas and I hope you did. I hope we all have a better year.

Well, in that case, it's not all bad. I'm glad you had a good Christmas. Ours was quiet, but I am grateful that we were together. Yes, I hope 2021 is a better year for us all. Love, Mary Kay xoxo

I have another one on there. It is about the wedding. Read if you get a chance. You don't need to knock yourself out correcting it, although I do appreciate it.

Can't wait for the wedding! (unless ... ?) Did the marriage (?) turn out well? I never want this series to end. I want to meet the grandchildren and attend their weddings.

The space shuttle [OMIT COMMA] Enterprise did capture your attention

maid of honor and bridesmaid (not capitalized)

IMaxine and Wayne's oldest son, Gary [COMMA} had married his high school sweetheart. Chuck, the younger son [COMMA] was serious about

hyphenate 15-acre , half-mile-long, and well-endowed

One of the most interesting things was the half-mile-long Wonder Wall [SEMICOLON] it was a visual parade of well endowed-mermaids and

close to Five [five] hundred million dollars

For one thing, we had a wedding to attend [COMMA] which would be coming up shortly.

Thank you Elizabeth. I'm glad ;you aren't getting tired of this because we've still got a few years to go and I'm not tired of writing yet. Thanks again for the corrections. You found four things that Mary Kay missed. LOL Here's something funny. I copied three sentences as they were from a description of the fair on the net. Five people found different things I've had to change about those three sentences. You found two, the "well-endowed and the semicolon. I'd already changed the rest. As for the wedding, I'll post it soon. Not a perfect match.
