I think I mentioned to you that I already read this chapter, before the next one -- and I think I even commented on it too, in chapter 112 -- what a great wife you were, and how I hope Connie eventually went back to church.
I actually don't have time to look for errors, before the clock strikes midnight, so here's my last six! I'll try to come back.

And here I am. Here's my list of recommended revisions:

I always enjoy it when you add a little history to your biographical novel, and the events that unfolded in Tiananmen Square were quite a chapter for those of us who remember.

There's a FanStory writer who was actually there, in China, while these events were happening, and she has written "fiction" based on history and personal experience. You can look her up, or follow her, if you're ever interested. Her name is Lisa Wharton. She's actually published a book called, "Last Kiss in Tiananmen Square" and is writing a screenplay based on it, "Tiananmen Square, A Script." I review her work, from time to time.

Mary Kay, you know I didn't expect you to go back and edit this, although I feel much better about it now that you have. You are amazing. As for Lisa Wharton, I have been reading her screen play on the Tiananmen Square horror. It means a lot when you get acquainted with someone who was actually a part of it.

You're very welcome, Beth. I know you didn't expect me to ;-)
I'm so happy that you're acquainted with the work of Lisa Wharton! Yes, it does mean a lot when you know someone who was actually there. I think in the novel, she goes even more in depth, although she's not currently promoting it. I'm happy for her that she was able to get out of there and come to the U.S.
    Blessings as always,
    Love, Mary Kay xoxo

I imagine retirement could be a hard adjustment, once the new of it wears off. I"m glad Connie has a friend, that won't get her into so much trouble. Sounds like Don and Kimberly are doing good.

Thank you for the review and comments. Connie could get in trouble all by herself but Lenny was a good influence as long as it lasted.
Kimberly was determined to become a part of Don's life.

P2 / L4 - the in the should be in the

P4 L3 - Ice cream should be ice cream

Ronnie McDowell is a personal friend of mine. Saw him in concert last Saturday night. He still does an incredible show.

This remains interesting. Keep it up.

Beth,

That is a moving ending! Once again this a very good addition to your memoirs and lots more activity. I like how you start out about what was transpiring on the other side of the world.

I don't know about Lenny. He sounds spoiled if he was driving a nice car and lived with his mother and grandmother. Ok...no tattoos, tails or holes in his jeans...?

"Lenny was cute and drove a nice car. He lived with his mother and sister in Mountain Shadows, which was a ritzy subdivision with some very expensive homes."

There's so much I could comment on...
You did a very great job with this.

You have a small typo in the following line:

" We agreed that it was something we shouldn't try (fo) force on people."

Thank you for the review and comments. Lenny may have been a little spoiled but he was basically a good kid and the kind parents of eighties liked to see that daughter's date.

Dear Beth, this particular chapter will be very valuable to your children. By describing, not only how are you and Evan felt about things, but to remind them of their own choices, make them reflect, and perhaps make wiser ones in the future.

That was a really interesting part, Beth. You and your family certainly had a lot going on. I suppose we all do, but unless we put it down, we just carry on without taking much notice. I think I'll have to keep a journal, and add things I remember as I go along. Connie is settling down a bit more and I wonder if that has anything to do with her new young man. You mentioning the Tiananmen Square, masacre, which is what it was, things haven't changed much there, has it?
I can understand Evan being down at that time, after being a wage earner, and always being busy. Men don't retire easily. Another nice episope in the life and times of Beth and Evan!! I really enjoyed reading this episode. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you Sandra. Your comments are right on target. You are also right that we all have a lot going on and it gets away from us very easily. I kept a journal for a few years and I'm amazed at much I'd forgotten until I reread it.

Another interesting chapter, Beth. Poor Connie, just seemed to make a lot of poor decisions. Sounds like Lenny might be good for her though. This was a good read.

A couple of things that I noticed, but maybe you've already found them :)

She met him though(through) a girl...

asked if you would send her anther(another) $1000.

Jerry Lee was probably drunk and never knew he was anywhere in the world. He was bad about that and so was George Jones.
Glad you guys had a good time anyway.

Thank you for the review and comments. I'm sure you are right about Jerry Lee. A lot of musicians are drunks. Willie Nelson is a cocaine user. If you like country music, half time their songs are all about their vices. I appreciate you saving me the six stars.

In 1989, Tiaminan Square was the big news. It seems every so often there are protests in China, and they end with deaths. I believe the Hong Kong protests were the catalyst to Covid 19. What other answers were there? They literally shut the world down along with Hong Kong.
Connie is a going concern and seems to be in constant flux. Kimberley has her eye on Don and will not take it off. I'm sure Evan is just needing something to focus on during these not too busy days. You seem to be even-handed and flexible with your family.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my story. Yes Connie was a problem but I felt like Lenny was good for her. We all really liked him. When she went back to school, she studied harder probably because of him and he didn't smoke, drink or do drugs.
