Wow! Your kids were full of surprises, as much in their teens and adult years, as they were as children, if not more so. It must have been quite a surprise to find Lenny and Leslie on the bed with Connie (even though Lenny stayed out of the sheets). And Connie toilet-papering her boss's house... no wonder her boss's girlfriend didn't like her (if that was even true). And then Christine giving out kittens for "trick or treat," seems more like a trick to me, unless you were one of the kittens!

I found very few errors in this chapter, and they were mostly just commas that needed to be added:

In addition to the trip they'd bought an expensive Chow puppy.

You even had an extra "kid" for awhile, one with scraggly hair, who phoned you with kitty reports. Very funny!
There are an amazing number of people out there, in search of mother figures. I have met a few of them on Facebook/Messenger, people who love to address me as "Mom" or "Mum." (It's way better than the catfishers looking for romantic involvement!) I can handle that, since I don't have any children, but the 18-year-old kid who started calling me "Grandma" was kind of annoying. I wouldn't mind if I actually had biological children and grandchildren, but at 63, having skipped the "mother" stage, I really don't enjoy being regarded as a grandmother, unless, perhaps, the child was in diapers.

Mary Kay, Thank you so much for the wonderful help. I'm afraid you read this one after it wasn't active. I will be saying more about the guy who took the kittens because he was still calling into the next. HE was probably harmless but Connie was terrified of him. I don't blame you for now wanting to be called grandmother. You're too young for that. I see you've done the more recent one so I'll go on to it.

You're very welcome, Beth. Yes, sometimes I review posts even after their promotions are over, especially if I'm following the story. Thanks for understanding about the "Grandma" thing :-)
Connie was terrified of kitty guy? Oh no! Looking forward to learning more. I'm glad he wasn't really a bad guy.
    Love, Mary Kay xoxo

You continue to entertain your readers with the many happenings that go on in your family. I love the way you got that caller to take three kittens and I laughed when you informed us that he felt like part of the family. Don and Kimberly need to study a budget. Connie is becoming more responsible. I don't exactly know about Christi. She might find one boy eventually, that she will keep. LOL. Poor Evan, must have missed you all at Thanksgiving.

I'm not sure that one was still active. I just put another one on. I appreciate the review. Evan didn't go to Mississippi with us, but i'd already cooked an early Thanksgiving on the Sunday before so he had all the leftovers while we gone. I had to back so I get get Connie's friend, Lesley back home.

Thank you Barbara. I think my family was pretty normal. Some think I had more problems that most but I don't think so . They have just forgotten the bad stuff.

The style of writing of this ramble through your life is really attractive, and makes for a comfortable read.

Potential SPAGs for your consideration:
brother, Rhomas, and sister, Maxine > perhaps Thomas ?
when the have to ride > when they have to ride
Rhomus is Evan's blorher ??

Thank you so much for the review and comment and for catching a spag. Rhomas is correct. I had a creative Mother-in-law. She came up some names and combination no else used. i don't know where she got the name Rhomus. We got used to it, but I'm sure others find it odd. LOL
reply by Katherine M. (k-11) on 06-May-2021
But where did the one Rhomas and one Rhomus come from? just the a to u change all seems very strange to me.
reply by the author on 06-May-2021
Oh, I missed that. You did catch another spag. It should be Rhomas

As I may have said before, your story is about a typical middle-class American family. Yep, we all have had lessons on learning the value of a dollar, but I have learned, the rougher the start, the better the ending.
Good one Beth. Have had a few health problems but have bounced back. Sorry to be late in reviewing.

Thank you Chuck, I'm relieved to see you back. I was afraid you might be sick. I'm glad to know you are back. I appreciate the review and the six stars.

I had a few moments back there. I thought I was leaving the dance, but the music kept playing, and here I am.

Wow. You make it sound serious. I hope everything will be okay now. That music needs to keep playing.

It is amazing how you can remember the past days of your life...did you jot down any information prior to your writings? Like the idea that you and your family love to vacation together....family togetherness sometimes is the best.

Thank you Rosemary. I appreciate the review. Actually I did keep a journal for a few years after I moved to Chattanooga which includes what I'm writing at the moment. Earlier I relied only on memory.

Wow, Beth, quite a few things were happening here. I had to keep very concentrated to keep up with it all. So we go from your husbands fractured hip, to Don an Kimberly's shaky marriage to all the other things going on, trying to finding homes for a lot of kittens. I love it. Now what? Ulla:)))

Dear Beth, this chapter sounds almost like you used your diary to list all the comings and going's of everyone in the family, and just fleshed out those facts with what you remember about everyone's particular troubles, likes and dislikes and who went with who, where, and why.

Thank you Suzanna. You are right to an extent, because I did keep a journal for a few years and it is jogging my memory. I wished I kept writing one because I know I have forgotten a lot of things.

I had to laugh at how Christi got rid of the kittens! Lol. And then that motorcycle boat guy who became part of your family because of adopting kittens! How funny!

I was concerned that Evan stayed home alone when he wasn't feeling well. He didn't even want you go to work when he wasn't well.

It's so cool that Don and Kimberly could share the Bible with Lenny!
Typos and things:
she answered the door with a kitten her her (in her)
The newlyweds were spending weekend (the weekend? or weekends?)
Carol and Glen when to his parents (went)
to Hattisburg to meet Lesley's mom, (Hattiesburg)
The kids wanted to go back to Chattagnooa, (Chattanooga)

Thank you so much for the review and comment. I appreciate the help. I can't believe I misspelt Chattanooga as often as I right that word. The same for Hattiesburg. I can't trust those fingers.

Well, I thought I'd answered but apparently I typed my answer to you on to another person review. I'll bet he finds that confusing. I really appreciate your help. I hope I didn't nominate him instead of you.
