This is a great chapter! Miranda's Christmas scene with her mother-in-law was hilarious and her being Waylon's principal was genius. I always enjoy your writing, Gretchen. Best, JohnC.

Much better choice and solution: "but I'd settle for a cigarette and a beer." This is the way some people are able to go into denial, put the focus or blame on others. Many readers will identify with your dilemma. A fun ending.

Waylon is impressed with Miranda so maybe, just maybe things will go a little easier for her, but naw, couldn't be. LOL I like this story.

you know me, then you know that I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut on a good day. (you can omit 'that')

Even though I can hear him, all i can do is think about that smug woman who had (capital 'I' needed on 'i')

I think we've all felt like Miranda at times in our lives, everything out of kilter and surrounded by idiots. As a matter of fact, I feel like that most times. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Serious progress is being made here. Miranda kept her wits about her just enough to be a wise-and-admirable parent figure, but also took leave of her senses juuuuust enough with the "big dog bad ass" [loved that description!] to still be her equally admirable Just Miranda self.

I take back everything I said in my last review. She (you) handled it just right. I was completely wrong. This was a masterful resolution to what happened with regard to the knife and the ex-MIL. Miranda was in no position to escalate. She stepped it back for Waylon exactly right and will live to fight it out victoriously later.

Another great chapter.

I promise you that Miranda will not hold back in future chapters. Lol. You are forgiven. But I like that you tell me what you think. Don't hold back. Let me know. Gretchen

I promise I will. I know it's what you genuinely want. We're the same that way.

This is an excellent chapter that I enjoyed very much. I liked the tension between Miranda and Elaine Buckley, but especially the fact that Miranda and Waylon have a common enemy that brought them closer together. Kate xx

This was another great chapter. A real bonus. I do think Waylon is becoming fond of his Step Mom. Well done and keep it coming. No spags as far as I can tell.

I wonder whose voice it was, there are some girls that are magnets for certain men, that's true, from my experience that is certainly true. I love your style Gretchen, I always have, you genuinely have a way with words, beautifully written, blessings Roy

A couple of things I noticed. I love Marinda! She
Is a force to be reckoned with. I''m sure by now she has won Waylon over. She has fought his battle and he knows she is on his side now. You did a great job explaining your ex mother-in-law. Just perfect! Well done. Nancy:)

I just keep being more and more amazed. You have created a true person (that transcends simple "character") with Miranda. She's the friend everyone would like to have watching his/her back, and the person you wouldn't want to cross -- ever! Waylon is seeing this. Elaine already has!
