Good morning, Beth

And the trials, tribulations, and joy of life are still at work in your postings. Nice to see familiar faces after my absence. I don't dare to write stories so detailed; no one would believe they were non-fiction anyway. Sometimes I tell myself it was just a nightmare and didn't really happen. LOL

Glad to see you again.

Smiles and hugs, Carol

Thank you Carol. Yes, my life will never be completely free of trials and tribulations but whose is? We all got them. That is what life is all about but we deal with them and carry on the best we can.

This is another interesting chapter in the life of the Shelbys, Beth. It sure doesn't seem right that Don didn't get paid for all the adjustments he did. He was really being taken advantage of. I have to chuckle at all the car troubles. Cars are often necessary, but can cost more than they're worth.

Thank you Judy. Yes, Don made the wrong move choosing to go with that doctor. It did end well. All my children seemed to be dealing with stress and passing on a share of it to their dad and me.

You're most welcome, Beth. Just because our kids leave home, it doesn't mean we have no more responsibility to help them. But it sure makes our lives stressful at times. :)

Wow, you had the patience of a saint with all that you been through caring for everyone and worrying about each adult child's phase in their lives. I am sure there were times you really wanted to get away. And you sound a lot more social than Evan so that was probably hard on you, too. Thanks again for sharing. And I didn't even remember about Princess Di being so vocal about land mines. Wow, good for her! And we're thankful for Evan's service!!

Thank you Helen. Yes Evan was more of home body and traveling was stressful for him more than staying home. I longed to get away for a few days, but I knew I couldn't leave Dad. The kids wouldn't allow me to escape their problems.

My sister wanted her maiden name back after a mean divorce. My parents footed the bill. You can relate to that. Christi needs to have a common sense implant! Again, you 'bail' her out. You're right about kids these days constantly changing their mind while in college, although I don't think my grandson will be a case in point. Interesting about the wealthy husband being stingy. Why can't women find things like this out before they marry?!

Thank you for a great review. Some women are so hung up on all the wrong things when they look for the man they want to marry. My friend and cousin claims money didn't influence her marrying a older rich man but she admits she wouldn't have married him is he hadn't had money. She have dated him longer.

Since the divorce was a done deal she needed her name back. No issues with Do-It-Yourself if she could.

In the last line of the second paragraph, the word to should be inserted between "embarassed" and "have".

In Paragraph four the word "temperature" should be temperatures because of the plural word "variations".

In Paragraph five a ( , ) needs to be inserted between "Dalton" and "Georgia".

In Paragraph seven "make wood" should be made wood.

In "Joy is" delete the word I.

In "John and Harriet" the word "for" should be from, and the word "Chattanoog" should be Chattanooga.

Thank you so much for the review and the help with editing. I'm late with the replies as I've been out of town a few days with no computer but I did borrow one to make the correction you suggested.

You already know how I feel about these memoirs. I know you family will enjoy reading them, to eventually include your grandchildren and maybe someday great grandchildren.

Thank you Barbara. I hope all by kids and grandchildren will eventually read them all. None of them are fans of reading. THey grew up in the television era and rather watch something than read.

It sounds like it might have been a really great trip to Europe, wherever one goes in Europe there's something wonderful to see, whether it be historical or natural. Beautifully written my friend I love the openness of your posts, it might have been difficult for you, but you've always stuck me as being an open, honest person, who doesn't judge. Well done Beth. Blessings Roy

Thank you Roy, I try to be open and honest. "Judge not lest you be judged" rings true for me. Also "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I'm a long way from perfect.

You remember a lot about the past, so many details like Carol's divoce, Don' trouble helping you and Evan's medical problems. You even remember who was the UK prime minister and Princess Diana's crusade against the land mine.

Well done.

It's kind of like a soap opera but only better. The soaps kind of stay in one place and don't move forward very fast. But your has a map from one chapter to the next and the changes are rapid. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Ric, I'm so pleased you are enjoying my soap opera. It is what it is and I'm telling it as I remember it, warts and all. LOL

Yes, you certainly seem to be telling it openly, which makes it all the more interesting. Pulitzer prize winning author Sam Shepard's advice to me was: great writing is open and completely honest, and the worst or most shocking parts are emphasized, not hidden or omitted. :-)

That is good to know. Thank for that. I was afraid people would say TMI. My kids say I put out too much information. LOL

You're kids probably have more to hide than you. Way to keep them on the edges of their seats, wondering what mother might say next. LOL.

This is my second go at your series and I enjoyed them both. I felt like the paragraphs were a little long on this one but that's just my two's cents.

I tried to find some mistakes and couldn't. You are a really great writer.
