Cell phones are not everything, but so true if a person does not own one, and mercy sakes alive anymore it must be a Smartphone, they become ostricized from societyl

Flies can be so annoying.

"Its like when" should be it's like when.

Finding the dead body would make many people sick, especially seeing flies in their mouth.

I struggled with that scene. Not a fan of blood and guts. But I needed to show Miranda in a weak state. I didn't think it would be believable unless the reader saw what she did. Thank you so much for this awesome review. Gretchen

I did not see that one coming, Gretchen, And the location of the body was brilliantly done. You put in mind that the smell was coming from the duct-tapped washer. It added to the suspense! I loved this one! I'm a bit behind, so that you may get another review shortly, lol.

Noooooo! I did NOT anticipate THIS!!

You did the BEST job, Gretchen, weaving this chapter. Annoying flies, Miranda hates flies, more flies, the wind shifts, the REASON for the flies! Omg. Absolute PERFECTION! You are the BEST freaking writer, Gretchen!!

Nicely written. Good dialogue. Very credible.
I like the lead up to tipping the couch over. And you made the flies real.
This was a good chapter.
Best wishes.

Well that's a bit of turn up for the books, Ed Preston is dead, I wonder who's got to him, it's difficult to tell, nobody is particularly likes, but what could anyone have so much about him, they'd kill him, Miranda has her limits, beautifully written Gretchen. Blessings Roy

Tried to make Miranda a little more vulnerable I'm this chapter. She can't always be sharp witted. Not many people were a fan of Ed Preston. Still he was a living breathing person. Someone's child. Thanks for your intuitive review. Gretchen

Oh, Ed Preston. You know who I thought it was? I thought it was the husband of Whatsername Miranda's enemy since high school. But dead is dead ... and gray dead is oooooooohhhhh. Dead bodies and I don't get along, whether a cat, a dog, or a person! This chapter took us in an altogether different place. And there as a body in the other car! This can still go a lot of different ways.

Good job, Gretchen!

Jay

There is a body in the second , just discovered car at the bottom of the pond. Who knows who that could be. Hope Miranda, Waylon and Aaron can solve the mystery. Thanks for this great review.

Oh no! But now Miranda will be a suspect since she threatened him harm at the store. I wonder if it's that officer... After all the insinuations that Miranda made about Missy dumping her husband, now Missy may be the one to tease Miranda. This is not looking good for our heroine...

What a horrible discovery. You described the scene very well, and Miranda's reaction to it. Now to see what happened to Preston.

Just a suggestion, but how about listing your characters and their description at the end of each post. If the reader forgets who a character is, they can refer to the list.

I hadn't thought about doing that. It's a great suggestion. Hopefully, I won't forget it next time I go to post. Thanks so much for this wonderful review. Gretchen

Okay, I never suspected Ed Peterson, I did expect Missy's husband. Now, I'm also wondering about the person in the car underwater. You have me totally engrossed in this story. Great job.

Wow, your vivid descriptive lines, gross as they are, touched all my senses as I held my breath to avoid the stench and flies. Fantastic writing! I'm just sorry that I don't have the stars to reward it properly. I prefer your witty and comical tones, but your scene painting makes this my favorite chapter yet. Thanks for sharing.

I'm with you. I like smart ass Miranda much better. But with her discovery I figure she might not be coming up with the one liners. Next chapter. Thank you so much for the implied 6. I appreciate it. Gretchen
