Another superb poem, Rod! Your sonnet form is perfect and I really liked "white spume soon geysering," to create that visual effect of the rising of the waves. Then for the volta, you liken the waves to the rise and fall of kingdoms past. Beautifully done! Congratulations on the win!!

Crashing waves upon the shore with every day they come more and more I love this sonnet with all of its descriptive words and phrases. They capture the sea as it ebbs and flows all through the day and night. I love the picture which shows the waves as they ought to be shown with a guided tour of what the poem will be about.

This Sonnet is simply invigorating, so to speak, reminding us that the sea truly has a rhythm of its own and also here that rhythm is conveyed through the medium of exquisite language and allusion-has my vote!
