Your words are pure gold here. What a lovely image you create here, that I believe has a deeper spiritual meaning, even if that was not your intention. I would like to think our souls can still grow in the poorest of conditions.

Beautiful, my friend ! You're blazing the trail in this contest and doing such an exceptional job in every form of poetry. A spiritual poem for the day that conveys a little sadness. I thought of Flanders Field.

All my best,
Sal Xoxo

This haiku poem points out that the glorious poppies in wild fields are as rich as Nature could ever get in spite of poor soil. The fields aren't so bare or barren after all. Nice share.

Excellent entry for the wild flower haiku poem challenge in the haiku club. Good syllables count and connection between lines. The presentation is lovely.

Even though these poppies are golden, I always associate the flower with battlefields and hence, maybe, an alternative meaning to 'poor' and resonance of 'barren.' Love the image and its reflection of those golden riches. You always provide a wealth of imagery in your verses, Jess. A lovely club entry. Take care Debbie xo

I love poppies of all colors! These golden ones are a rich gift from nature. This haiku is a lovely response to the wildflower club challenge. Great artwork to highlight it as well!

Gorgeous art and presentation and lovely poem. You have a way with words that seem to come so easy and just read and flow beautifully. Awesome job on this one, Jess!! Love, Debi

This is very nicely worded and a pleasure to listen to. I enjoyed it very much. I wish you the very best with all of your writing. Your presentation here is beautiful. My family one time went to a field of golden poppies. We had a movie camera along with us and we took close-up pictures of a bee down in the center of one of the flowers. It was amazing. Patricia .

I love poppies - somehow they don't like the Pacific NW as much as the barren fields of California. Your poem captured the perfect contrast of the riches of the golden poppies and the poor soil!

This is a lovely wildflower haiku. The picture of the poppies illustrates it beautifully, syllable count complies, "petals of gold" paints the picture. Excellent effort for the competition. Good luck!
