I enjoyed the sentiment here in your Minute poem. I would check your syllable count to bring into line with the contest rules Anna and I wish you luck, love Dolly x x x

Thanks for your kind review and for taking time to review. I still struggle with formatting different lines so it shows up as intended. Will play with it some more!

This poem capture grief to the degree of numbness. Mothers who have lost their children may never find words nor anything else to comfort them. Mothers have plans and dreams of loving and nurturing their children, not losing their children. This is well written with a perfect supporting presentation.
Best wishes,
Alex

Well deserved. You're welcome.

This is put together beautifully. I can't begin to imagine, or dare want to imagine what it feels to grieve a child.
But here you have captured the raw emotion very well and the art complimenting the poem is a perfect addition for your poem. Brilliant, well done. Good luck with the contest.
Best Wishes

An excellent entry for the Minute Poetry Contest. I couldn't even begin to take on a poem like this but you did a beautiful job of describing a grief that to me would be indescribable.

This poem tackles a difficult subject with compassion and care. It doesn't sugarcoat the issue, but handles it kindly. The assonance in the first two lines covers the missing rhyme well enough. The last stanza captured my heart.

No loss cuts as deeply into the soul as the loss of a child. We expect that our parents will leave us a some point, but nothing in life prepares us for the death of a child. The pain lasts forever, even if the child was an infant. You've adequately captured the mood and the aftermath of loss in you Minute poem. Best wishes in the contest.

Exactly! I was trying to write about how unnatural and unexpected, but not able to. Thanks for taking time to review. I really appreciate it.

Very nice poem. It captures all the feelings of grief well. I love the picture. Good choice for the poem. Well written. Losing a loved one is so diffcult. Very nice work.

It certainly is upfront about this horrendous event. Image matches subject and I hope it does well for you in the contest. Thanks for sharing. Take care and have a wonderful day.

Mrs. Anna,
This is a great story about a mother's grief. It must be the most difficult thing to lose a child. I just lost my dog and she was like my child. I cried for days coming to terms with her death.
Good luck in the contest
