Grieving mother

by Mrs Anna Howard

One lit candle by the window
for a dear soul-
the one so loved
now dwells above

No tear left in the mother's eyes,
too numb to cry
Her painful heart
was ripped apart

No story of what could have been
all pages are seen-
just memories
permanently
