Can You Love Me?

by Mrs Anna Howard

Do you see me?
suffering homelessness
Do you want me?

Under the pine tree,
that one on the footpath
Do you see me?

Once young and carefree,
now alone and lonely
Do you want me?

No one else but me
stomach and soul empty
Do you see me?

Nowhere else to flee
so I just stay right here
Do you want me?

The Bible says that He
could love someone like me,
But, do you see me?
Do you want me?
