Mommas really are jacks if all trades. You were seamstress, counselor, and veterinarian all in one shot there. Well, vet might be a stretch.

Fun read. I can see why it was number one. Well deserved!

Aw..... what an endearing story. Your son is brave to not care what others think about his stuffed scooby doo. It reminded me of my son's stuff bear named, Scotty.... he loved that little bear. Once we went on vacation at a winter bed and breakfast cabin in snowy, Trucky, Nevada. He forgot it there and we had to contact the cabin owner, he mailed it to us, my son was happy.

Well done, Barbara, thank you for sharing.

How interesting .I am impressed that you took the trouble to repair his scooby doo and gift it to him as a Christmas present.. I enjoyed reading this .are all your sons tall dark and handsome? (Harlequin heros) You must be a proud mother to have raised such strapping sons.

Barbara,

I love the stories about your family. It sounds like your three boys kept you very busy. Funny story about your son and Scooby Doo. He's right who would question him. LOL

Well done

Cecilia

This is an endearing story about this beloved toy Barbara and I am amazed that your son still has Scooby Doo and I loved his reply back to you which was witty and clever. An enjoyable little story, much enjoyed, thank you for sharing this with us.

Small suggestion for this line:
(Okay, he probably had (a) point).

For my fifth birthday, I got a, maybe eight inch tall light brown stuffed teddy bear.
I'm now 70 and "Teddy" as I named him (very original) still sits on my night table beside our bed.

Steven's not the only one...

Good story.

My son had a giant rabbit with holes that the stuffing was slipping out of and my mother repaired him, washed him up, and made him almost like new. I think it's sweet that he wants to hold onto a part of his past - his innocence - and that you took the time to make Scooby whole again.

Thanks for sharing.

This was a lovely story. I recently wanted to get my old teddy cleaned up and repaired but, sadly. the Doll's Hospital I was gonna send him to, quit doing repairs. I got teddy when I was 8 at a time my father left us.

Thank you for understanding. I'm sorry. But I'm betting some ladies from your church would know how to fix your teddy.

Might look into it he needs opening up and the music box replaced and his coat given a bath. Used to play twinkle twinkle little star.

I love this story! That's so sweet that Steven loved his Scooby that much! I think one of my grandchildren loves her big oversized pillow/stuffed animal, too.
As for the tadpole, did the airlines take your tadpole away?
