I love your attention to detail after all this time, the firefly incident being a good example. I also agree with you wholeheartedly regarding the squirrel babies. I once dated an American who adored hunting and had an array of guns, but the idea of shooting an innocent animal turned my stomach. As the difference in our ideas regarding the great outdoors emerged, the relationship started to deteriorate.
Another super chapter, and one I'm sure your children will enjoy.

I am thankful for all my memories both good and bad. Some of it seems horrible to those who are reading it but it doesn't make me sad to remember them now. I think some of them might have caused stress at time a pretty funny now.

Thank you again. Joy was going against her better judgement. Her Art teacher and adviser got involved and put a stop to this not long after this.

boiling the thin spaghetti noodles with a little salt and then finely mincing ground beef with onion and adding chilli powder, ketchup, and a little water. We would pour the meat over the softened noodles and top it with shredded cheese. Sort of Spaghetti Bolognaise)

We made Pina Coladas with the mix and the ginger ale and dropped in a Cherry. - lower case for 'cherry'

However for some reason, you got up at daylight - comma after 'however'

You write so well Beth! Your story is interesting and well put together. It reminds me of when I was young. Many times I left the hose hooked to the spinner clothes washer and when I returned there was water everywhere. Ha, ha! I do like my automatic washer nowadays.

You covered significant ground here Beth. Many scenes to unpack from the leaky floor to the appearance of a man who was a stranger to your husband. My mind is stuck on the leaky floor. It reminded me of the time my wife and I lived in an apartment when we were young and the person left the bathtub water run above us. Things get dicy with neighbors. Also liked the story about the squirrels, a sad one though.
