I had the same dilemma when my daughter was born in 83. Because we lived in the country, there was little female work to be had, so I decided to work from home and create a business that would allow other young mothers to do the same. Little did I know what would evolve from that, but I look forward to writing about it next year when I start posting again.
Your memory and attention to detail is superb!

Alexis

I was like a kid, thrilled with [the] idea of riding a boat out to sea.

I'm so pleased that you are planning to start writing on this site again. I will look forward to reading it, because I've read enough of your writing to know I like your style. I read a few pages of your books on Amazon as well as some in your portfolio.

Job are sometimes hard to find. We always wish for a dream job but sometimes that never happens. When the babies are little its good to be able to stay home with them. Glad that you could.

It was good to be home with my little girl when I was pregnant with the twins.

I missed this one and an trying to catch up. I quit teaching until both my children were in school. no way would I miss those formative years.

Thank you so much for the review although this one was older. You were wise to stay home. We needed the money during those early years. I didn't want my husband to have all the burden of supporting us. In retrospect, I don't think it hurt because I have a great relationship with them all and seem to have turned out all right.

This was another good read. Did I miss the phoney money? I am pretty well loaded up atm as I have not got onto a poem I wanted to write. I think I am wearing out on this place, sorry. No spags.

I put up my biography again with an edit to one of the earlier chapters about high school if you had not seen it.

I must admit I enjoy reading your biography and realise that others had the same troubles you did, both my brother and mother suffered the consequences of having measles as a young kid, mum went deaf later in life, as did my brother, due to measles. Sorry I upset you with my post the other day, my wife is similar, events like this drive people to seek God, and Christians become more diligent. Well done, blessings Roy

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I don't remember being upset over anything you've posted. I just tend to express my thoughts. You stimulate my thinking and sometimes I have question but I can't remember the the last time something upset me.

Thank you for sharing these memories and for putting it into historical perspective. You are ahead of your time thinking about providing an income for the family. Many women just stayed home. But I remember those early years with a baby and all the sicknesses that made it so hard for working mothers.
One question: Who was Nan?
" Nan had finished high"

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Nan was in many of the other chapters. I should have made it clearer. She was my husband's little sister. I thought since I mentioned, "Your mom wanted her to come" it might be enough, but I should have said your sister.

Dear Beth, I am glad that you had no more than the two scary episodes with Carol in this post. And you did get enough of a vacation to leave you with memories.
I am supposing that Carol has read this part of your bio by this time. What response have you gotten?

Thank you for the review. I surprised at how much my family likes this story. They keep pushing me to hurry and write more. Since I basically doing it for them, I'm glad they like it.

Hi Beth, this is so well written and at one point you thought you were about to lose little Carol, as well. I know and recognise that feeling, as I almost lost my daughter when she was three years old. It's not something you want anybody to go through. I'm glad that Carol recuperated very quickly. All best. Ulla:)))

Thank you Ulla. I appreciate the review and the comments. Having lost one, we really got upset when anything went wrong. Parenthood has it's close calls and worries.

You've done it again! Another wonderful chapter. I always feel like a fly on the wall enjoying all the good things, suffering along with you in all the hard things of life. Well done once more!

I'm jumping in in the middle but I loved learning about you. It's crazy how people don't vaccinate their kids. The vaccines are there for a reason, it drives me insane. Great job with this.

Thank you for reading this. I did vaccinate for measles as soon and the vaccination was out. They didn't have it when Carol was a baby. However if you'd read my story a few chapters back you know I lost my first child due to a vaccination for DPT when she two months. A lot of children died or got brain damage from it back in the sixties.
reply by ExperiencingLiphe on 05-Apr-2020
Yeah it's crazy how far we've come in the medical world. I certainly didn't mean you not vaccinating your child. I just meant today in the world that is now. I broke my foot 6 weeks ago and they didn't find the break right away. Back in the 60's or even more recently than that, they probably would have never found it and I would have just hobbled around. It's crazy cool how far we've come.

I knew your were implying that. You are right we've come a long way. Still it is a shock to see how unprepared we were for a pandemic. I hope you keep reading my story.
