Uncertain times indeed. I can well understand your concern regarding your husband's job, especially when you had five mouths to feed as well as a new finance agreement on the plot of land. The fish tank incident sounds horrendous, and as you say, it was a miracle nobody was hurt. I can imagine the sight of a fish tank gave you the shivers for a while after that!
Another great chapter, with excellent attention to personal and historic details.

I've never been a person who spends much time worrying about anything, unless someone life is in jeopardy. Most of the time, we kept all those worries on the back burner. There is always something to be concerned about. Thanks for the great review.

You sure was a busy mommy when you had our children at home. Your children were busy kids. I can visualize the toppling of the fish tank and seeing your babies lying under the rocks, fish, and water. Good thing they were not hurt. And the flour and syrup...what an adventure.

Yes, those were the days I started wondering if I needed to go back to work or have a nervous breakdown. LOL

Good interesting and dramatic chapter. What dramas you had with the twins especially. Still not being notified. Tell me when you post, please. No spags.

Whew! I'm glad I never had twins and my children were four years apart. Good to see Carol's not a perfect angel. Eating toadstools! Just what you needed. I admire how you handled all this, and how again thanks for including the historical background. Your children will thank you same day or at least your grandchildren.

Thank you again. Yes twins are a handful and Carol was no angel but other than her stubborn and grouchy disposition she didn't give us too many problems.

Oh my!! Any one of those disasters would be worthy of a single post and I'm dizzy after reading those events all in a sequence! How in the world did you ever survive? God was with you! And He knew I couldn't have handled twins!

Thank you for the review and comments. Those terrible twoa were bad time but the twins were fun too. I think I just fortunated that I didn't have identical twin boys. I don't think I could have handled two like him.

I'm sure you are grateful for your son now. Girls are harder when they hit their teens - it was for me anyway

I certainly appreciate my son now. I know what teenage girls. I remember my own teenage years. I don't know how my parents tolerated me and it 's worst today.

I think it is a marvelous idea to write about your memories of your life with your husband so it leaves you legacy of a marriage for your children. Well written and presented well.

I can remember the sixties well, we were stood down where I worked, but no one was actually sacked, we struggled a little in that period, but I was still single with no dependants. We went back to work after that. Boy, you did have problems with the twins, we had two girls, the elder girl was angelic with a sweet, giving nature, the younger was a bit of a problem, but girls will sit and colour in, but boys...well done Beth, I love biography, blessings, Roy

Thank you Roy. I like biographies too. I guess that why I'm writing one. I have one daughter that I've not gotten to yet. She tells me I can quit writing till she gets born. She straggled along ten years behind the twins. I think she gave me more problems in her teen year than any of the rest.

A super chapter again, Beth. Twin babies with initiative, wow, that sounds exciting and (sometimes) fun, but I don't envy you. When I read about the mushroom-eating and the enormous chest falling down with aquarium and fishes included...I can only guess what you were going through.

Another joy to read!

1. I was once(r)ned as well...

Wonderful tale of woes with the demon twins. Amazing that you all survived to tell it. Poison (?) mushrooms, flour and syrup on them and the sofa, burial by aquarium. No wonder you wanted to go back to work. Cheers. LIZ

Oh my, what a life you had with the children. Things kids get into can truly unnerve any mother. I am happy to see, so far, that you could handle each situation. You have an intriguing story to tell.
