Good chapter which I missed again! Well done very descriptive and I am guessing your hubby was a loner-type like me. I have become more withdrawn since dceafness has hit. No spags.

Thank you so much for the read. I haven't posted anything in the last two weeks because I 've been caring for a friend that just got out of rehab but I'm going home tomorrow. Yes, my husband was a bit of a loaned but I'm surprised you are.

You brought back many memories for me with this piece. I spent every winter for sixteen-years in New Orleans, staying at the Imperial House Hotel on Causeway Blvd, which I'm sure has been torn down by now. A young pup, it was party central and like nowhere I had ever been before. Thanks for sharing.

Dumpster diving. Interesting what treasures may be found.

If a kid steals best to keep them away from your home.

she lose a finger should be she'd lose a finger.

he ordinary should be the ordinary.

no where else to park should be nowhere else to park.

Nothing like Mardi Gras in New Orleans. My best friend is from Gretna, on the West Bank, so that made this chapter even more interesting to read.

I like that you broke this off into several shorter stories contained within the short story. It was an enjoyable read. Really great work here, thank you for sharing. Later daze.

What a lot of novel experiences you describe. You do describe Mardi Gras so well I felt like part of the crowd. What a scam with the parked cars on the ramp. Unbelievable what some call a business. Your forays are very interesting and descriptions of the children are sweet. I don't know about Christi, though, hiding in the laundry basket. What a SURPRISE! Well done.

SSSSSSurprise! You've earned a bonus for making me roar with laughter, for the second episode in a row. I was howling over the possum in the toilet and now Christi in the basket! (How did Barbie's raincoat turn out?) Cheers. LIZ

So a good laugh is worth a six to you? If they would give us enough sixes all you pieces would get them because I enjoy a good laugh too. Thank so much for the review and fun comments. You know, I couldn't allow that Barbie to go around wearing condom, rain or no rain. LOL

I was sure all the emergency visits to the hospital would be for Don but boy, your little Christi sure kept you busy!! "Raincoat for Barbie!" Too funny! Oh, I don't like crowds either. It does sound like quite an experience for you and the kids and a money-maker of the towing company. Thanks for sharing! Now I don't have to go - ever. Lol.

"After that. she" (comma, not period here)
" All the business were closed " (businesses)

Thank you for the review and comments. Kids have ways of making you laugh and also ways of making you worry, but they are worth it.
That for pointing out the errors.

This was a very nice read. A great collection of memories. I live in Lake Charles, and have had two horrible incidents at Mardi Gras parades, although I never had my car towed. It can be a fun time, but also a trying one. Thanks for sharing your memories.

Thank you for the review and comments. Mardi Gras can be dangerous. I've had some scary moments. I've been through Lake Charles on the way to Port Arthur, Texas. I appreciate the review.

Amusing and dangerous excerpts you picked out to share with us. A dumpster diver, mystery rock fan, a child thief, a freeloader (good to hear your husband got rid of him), trips to ER. Never a dull moment. And what a shocker to have your car towed away! A vivid account of Mardi Gras. What? No bare-breasted women? That's what I've heard about.

Thank you for a great review. I love your comments. I think they bare breasted women were on the other side of the street. Actually that happens in the French Quarter. St Charles Ave is a tamer area. I had children to protect. LOL I love those stars.

A veritable pot-pourri of family life as experienced while living in the apartment in Metairie - comings and goings and that famous Mardi Gras moment - thanks for sharing
