Beth,
This is a nice way to remember deceased members of your family and your friends.
I am just wondering, are you laying down a foundation for future work? I'm asking because I want to know more about each of these character's lives.
The is a lovely story.
Good luck in writing,
Best wishes,
Cindy

Thank you Cindy. I appreciate the review and comments. I'm enjoying writing and I will continue to write as long as I enjoy it, so I hope to continue writing about the things I know about.

I'm smiling at your "ladies man" comment. He really must be a charming, handsome man. I'm glad that he learned to study and I'm sure it's because you made the effort to listen to the Bible with him. It's surprising how professors can be atheists and know the Bible so well!

Thanks for sharing that moving moment when Carol was saying 'goodbye' to Connie.

One suggestion:
old Testament stories from the Bible (Old)

Thank you Helen. He was very handsome at that time in his life. I think I've fixed that "old" but I'll recheck it.

Another wonderful chapter in your family history! It always sounds so colorful to me. I guess the nest is beginning to empty, but it will take awhile because of your youngest child, Connie. You really made me smile, referring to your son Don as a "ladies' man." Clearly he enjoyed the company of young women, yet I'm sure you raised him to be a gentleman. He obviously had very eclectic taste in those ladies, too!

I am again out of sixes, but this is no reflection on the quality of your writing!

I hope that your Mom was going to be alright, after she skipped following up on care for her thyroid cancer.
And it sounds like your husband's company was giving him more positive thinking than he could handle. I can only take so much of those mind games, myself.

Thank you for your wonderful review and comments. Most of these mistakes you find are so obvious, I can't imagine how I could not see them. You're priceless. Mom was okay. I'll get to that soon. She got checked out the following year in New Orleans and they found no sign of cancer. She lived 12 more years and died of a heart attack.

Oh, the things you are experiencing with the growing children! Don does appear as a ladies man, and that is a boost to a confident manhood.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Yes, my son seemed to charming the ladies. LOL

Beth,

I am so glad that weirdo, silly professor didn't have an effect on your sweet son. That's what happens to so many godly kids - you send them off to college and they come back in a whole new condition - 'advanced and enlightened'. SCARY.

Thanks!

Thank you Robyn. I've know some good Christian people that went in a different direction after college. I appreciate the review.

I'm enjoying your life story and your easy going manner in telling it. It is one thing to write about what happened and it is another to write about your feelings. You do this well: "I was amazed that this would be a subject that a boy and girl could discuss together. "

Thank you for the review and comments. I was amazed about that as well. My son was all into health. He is a chiropractor now. No subject seems to be taboo for him.

Hi Beth, this is another lovely chapter. I just wonder how many more years your mother lived?
I know so many say it's hard when the kids leave home. I've only had my daughter, and we were both ready when she left home. It was time and good for both of us when she moved on.
I don't understand. Why were you shocked about Jewish fables and folk tales?
she seemed no worse for the wear. = she seemed no worse for wear. I know English is not my first language, but I believe that is the correct expression. I so enjoy your story. Ulla:)))

Thank you for the review and comment. My mother was checked out the following year and the hospital in New Orleans found no cancer. She lived another 12 years and died of a heart attack. As the fokelore, most Christian believe they are true stories and not fictional tales. I'm glad you are enjoying my stories.

I'm glad the breakup didn't slow your little lover down too long, lol. Hopefully Christi will figure out what she wants to do soon. I imagine you wasn't thrilled about her going to Australia seeing how it's so far away. For me, all the children moving out was difficult, but the first and the last was the hardest of all the first because it was the beginning and the last because that was it, my job was done. So I thought at the time. Little did I know they'd all be back.
Your story is well-written, very interesting. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you for the review. I loved your comments. Especially about not knowing they would be back. For the the twins, I started thinking of them boomerangs because they kept coming back. Connie was the only one who never came back after she moved away

Dear Beth, I could feel your emotion when you realized that Carol was saying goodbye because I live through the same thing with my oldest.
You did an excellent job of describing how you felt, particularly because you had always been so involved with, and cared so much about your children.

Thank you for the lovely review, Suzanna. It was sad to know my daughter would no longer be a part of my home. I'm thankful that now, she lives near me and I see her often.

Poignant episode. Good riddance to Doctor Dick--how long did she live after stopping treatment? Looking forward to some more of Don's adventures with the ladies!

Thanks for the great review and comments. Mom lived twelve years and never had any sign of cancer again. She died from a heart attach at nearly eighty-one.
