Our family has been on a very similar vacation but stayed in hotels since I don't camp. My version of camping is a Hotel with room service. LOL As always I enjoyed reading.

Thank you for the review. It went off the list today so I'm sorry if you weren't paid any play money for reading.

I think this is such a wonderful idea, writing as a real conversation rather than as a third person documentary. I'm sure your children will appreciate this much more.

Thank you for the review and comments. I'm doing it this way so they can get a better idea of what their dad was really like. He was so busy and concerned with his job when they were little. After he retired he got to know them better but they were grown by then. He loved them but he left most of the interaction up to me.

Hi Beth. sorry I missed so much. I have had all sorts of medical issues and barely been able to post every ten days if at all. and reviewing has really been slowed down for me.

I always wanted to see Gettysburg, but my legs couldn't handle the walking by the time I decided I wanted to do that. I didn't appreciate it as much when I was younger.

Anyway, I enjoyed this chapter again with your conversations. Burying an engine is something I never tried to do but was tempted a couple of times. LOL

Interesting chapter my friend. Bob

Thank you Bob, I appreciate the review and comments. I'm sorry to hear you've had medical issues. I have bad knees too which needed knee replacement ten years ago. I'm still walking but only be getting regular water aerobic exercise at the Y.

Thank you, for continuing to share memories from your past. I particularly enjoy the fact that you include historical references (the Challenger explosion was such a devastating moment in our nation's history). Your recollections provide the reader with an opportunity to revisit personal memories in addition to learning more about your personal history. Nicely done.

There was a lot in this part, Beth. I remember as clear as day when that rocket blew up, and can quite imagine the children's shock when they knew their teacher was in it.
Your renervations to your home ended up lovely, didn't it. You had it as you wanted it. Life is strange sometimes.
You have a lot of lovely memories from your marriage, I'm so pleased for you. :)) Sandra xx

Your life unfolds right before my eyes, and I feel like I am right there experiencing everything as it goes down. Don and his automobiles! ha ha

Rebecca, I really appreciate your willingness to share my memories. I love hearing your stories as well. You are an excellent novelist and you know I'm adducted to the Nellie Jo stories but I love hearing about your personal life in Thailand as well.

I really enjoyed reading your story about your family. This avenue of writing your experiences is a tremendous gift to your children. You have nice form and interesting word choice.

Thank you so much. I'm so glad other people other than my family seem to enjoy reading it. That is so good to know.

Hi Beth, I loved this chapter and I have a few comments to make, because it conjured so many memories for me. I had just arrived into New York on that day in 1986. Jet lagged as I were I channelled into ABC News I think and there was the horrendous explosion of the shuttle. I will never forget it. I'm so sorry about your experience with the city. It is really a magic place. Spending a few days three times a month for twenty years made me get to know the city, and I love it. Once all this pandemic is over, I will go there before I carry on to my family in MA. I love your story, as you do know. Ulla:)))

Thank you for the review and comments. If we were old enough to remember probably everyone remember hearing about the Challenger disaster. I went to New York later better prepared and I enjoyed that trip.

Yes but not many in Europe saw it life as I did. I'm glad you came back to New York. It does have a special place in my heart.

Dear Beth, at least Don was keeping in character through this whole chapter. It was surprising that Evan wanted to go to New York. Did he ever tell you what it was he wanted to see in the city. I am glad the rest of the trip was a success; and that you got back in to your "new" home.

Thank you for the review and comments. It was out of character for Evan to want to go there. I think he was trying to stall off what thought would be coming for the rest of us. I always wanted to go everywhere I'd not been before so he figured I was about to start nagging. LOL

You have certainly toured the United States in your lifetime Beth. I have never had itchy feet and have a need for roots that are very deep in one spot. LOL This is interesting as are all your chapters. Well done. Nancy:)

Thank you Nancy. I really appreciate the review and comments. We never went anywhere when I was young and I felt left out when my friends told me all the places they had been. Evan claimed that was my reason for having the urge to go places.
