It takes time to heal from hip surgery and I suppose Evan is slowly getting back to normal. The children seem to have settled into their lives nicely, except, it seems that Christi isn't quite sure of what she wants to be. Your life continues to be full and entertaining, these past few years and you write of it well.

This is a very cozy Christmas chapter. I'm glad Evan is finally able to collect his benefits from the SSA, and that you're both able to celebrate the holiday standing on both feet. The family seems fairly well behaved!

Thank you again. I always feel better about my chapters after you've shown me what I've missed correcting. I didn't realize that Midnight Mass was the name of a celebration and needed to be capsulized but I don't know a lot about the Catholic church. I really wish I could say Christi will get everything straightened out with money and boy friends. Unfortunately, she will continue to have problems. I still wish I knew how to make her life smoother but she is own worst enemy. She has many good points but her flaws seem to outweigh them. I pray for her and love her, but she is hard to deal with sometimes. I will be posting another story tonight or early tomorrow. Maybe it will on till Saturday or Sunday.
Thank you again for your excellent help

You're very welcome, dear Beth. I often seem to miss your promotions, but I've been in and out of FanStory like the wind, so hopefully I'll catch it next time.
I was raised RC, so I thought I would look up the Mass capitalization (later I joined the Church of the Nazarene, long story). "Mass" is always capitalized, and I wasn't 100% sure about "Midnight" but it seemed to go together that way, in the references I looked up.
Like your daughter Christi, I have had some issues that have followed me into adulthood, and which I'm still working on -- I've kind of made my own Mom a little crazy, myself. Fortunately I'm happily married, with no terrible addictions, but my Mom has come to accept me the way I am, although both of us would be happier, if certain things were resolved. (She also has her own troubles to deal with, which we are praying for.)
So your daughter Christi isn't the only one with problems! We can always keep praying for help; God is abundant in grace and mercy, and His ear is attentive to our cry. Thanks for sharing and God bless you!
    Love, Mary Kay xoxo

I love Christi dearly and she has a good heart and claims to love God but I'm afraid she she isn't happy because she feel life is passing her by and she now has a weight problem that she can't accept. By the way, There is another chapter that I think is still active but may go off today.

I'm sure you love her enormously! You and my Mom, you were raised differently and have different backgrounds, but I can tell that you're very similar, as awesome mothers.
My weight is one of the issues I've struggled with, but I have it under control much better than I have in the past... I know it's a very difficult thing to struggle with. Some things have gone well in my life, others not as much, so I understand, very much, how Christi feels. The best thing she can do is trust in Christ completely... but of course, you already know that. It's easier to do in some areas, than in others. I still have trouble with my emotions. I will check on your latest chapter!

Thank you for stopping and reading my chapter. I see you are new on FanStory. Welcome to the site. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have. I look forward to reading some of your work. You will find that most people will expect to get five stars unless you can suggest ways in which to improve their work regardless of what the instructions say about ratings. The six stars are from really outstanding work. I hope you will stop by again. i'm posting one or two chapters a week.

What a busy time that was! I feel sorry for your mom, who found joy in a work that she was gifted for and yet your dad made it impossible for her to enjoy working. What a hard life for her.
So is Lenny and Connie not getting married? It seemed they were meant for each other.
Thanks for noting the historical context. I hope Christi finds something that gives her sense of purpose and joy.

Thank you for the review and comments. At this time, everyone believes that Connie and Lenny will eventually marry. The year coming up will determine what will happen with that romance.

Dear Beth, this chapter, is indeed well Named. It was in deed, a most memorable year. I am particularly glad that no disasters happened, and that every one in the family were getting along well. I sincerely hope that the new year found Christy with a new job. One that she really liked.

Thank you for the review and yes, things slacked off a bit in order that we had a good Christmas. There was a song called "If we make it though December" That is the way I usually looked at it. I always relaxed a litttle after December passed.

Dear Beth, I bet you did. I can?t believe how much work you put out setting up your Christmas villages, not to mention all the other things you probably did, to celebrate the holidays.

It's becoming difficult to find new things to say, but I really do enjoy your words to your deceased husband as you recount memorable events in your lives. I'm certain this will be such a treasure for your children and grandchildren in the future. Nice job as always, Beth.

Don't worry about what you say. I appreciate the fact that you read my posts. I don't no why fanStory insists that you write a certain number of words before it goes through.

She confessed and promised to pay us later, but we realized that we weren't likely ever to see that money--a critical moment in her life.
Your life story is an interesting concept of many typical lives of the middle class, as some say. I find it interesting and similar to ours in some aspects.
Well done, Beth. Evan was a good man. I know you miss him.

Thank you for the review. She always meant to pay us back the money she borrowed. but she somehow never learned how to manage her finances. Evan could never say no to her, but I could. He was a very good man, and I do miss him but I know he was right with the Lord. I didn't want him to suffer, so I'm glad he went when he did. He had cancer, but it didn't get so bad he was in pain.

I totally understand. My Mary suffered as well but of another ailment. They both are in a better place then we.

That sounded like a nice Christmas, Beth. Since Jim passed away we have not enjoyed family get-to gathers at Christmas. Just Thanksgiving. It is just to difficult to do at our age. All the decorations are hard to put up and harder to take down. LOL Good job, Dear. Nancy:)

Thank you Nancy. I haven't had Christmas at my house since 2016. I always had both Thanksgiving and Christmas here when Evan was alive. My son keeps begging me to do it again and might try Thanksgiving this year, but I'm not up to decorating for Christmas.

As always, masterful narration and richly evocative--a tour de force of feasting--I'm referring not only to your XMAS spread but to the figurative feasting by this enthralled reader! Wonderful chapter.
