Corporate lawyers, I had fought before and lost because of slid money. Meaning they took a bribe to throw the case. I lost 750,000, which was mine to that scheme. I hope you did well. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Wow! That is a lot of money to lose. I'll tell you more about what happened with our case soon. I really appreciate the six stars. Could you read the poem I wrote about faith. It's is going to expire in an hour or so. I need two more to review it to make best of best status.

Thanks for telling me about your latest chapter, because I would have missed the promotion, otherwise! I really admire your tenacity in pursuing the lawsuit concerning your baby Susan's tragic death. I don't remember if you already told me the outcome of all that effort (and it's probably better if I don't know, while I'm following your story), but I really hope you got the award, eventually. We know it can never compensate you for the loss of your child, but as you said, it's the acknowledgment that the vaccine is what caused the encephalitis, which resulted in her death.
I got whooping cough.
I don't make many New Year's resolutions.
I didn't remember any prior mention of Curtis being hearing impaired.

I was one of the many unaffected babies who got the DPT vaccine, back in those days. It wore off in about 2005, when I contracted pertussis as an adult!

Did you mention earlier in your story that Curtis was hearing impaired? Maybe you did, and I don't remember it... because I was a little surprised by it. I felt as though it was the first time I was aware of it, so if that's true, maybe it should be mentioned somewhere, before he gets fired. Or maybe you did?
I can understand why you felt badly for Curtis.

I don't like making New Year's resolutions very much, either. I feel like I don't need a holiday as an excuse to make a commitment to change something. How many people do we really know, who make sweeping life changes, and when you ask them what happened, do they attribute it to a New Year's resolution? I don't know anyone like that!

Thank you Mary Kay, I'm so glad you got to this before it expired. I'll keep you in suspense a little longer about court case. Yes, I did a few chapters earlier mention about Curtis being deaf. You or someone else told me it was politically incorrect to say deft and I should saying hearing impaired and I changed it to that. Two of the "thats" you had me put in were there originally, but Barbara Wilkey had me take them out along with ten more. She said her editor made her remove her thats because they are overused and you don't need them. I looked up the rule and it said they are never wrong and sometimes they are needed so I find it confusing. As to New Year's resolutions, when I moved to Chattanooga, I made a resolution one January to write a journal each day of what happened. I kept that resolution for about seven years. I'm glad I die. Most diet resolution lasted one to three months. One last eight months and I lost 65 pounds.

You're very welcome, as always, dear Beth. THAT's up to you, of course! The two that I flagged, I did, because they looked a little bare, without them, but it's your call; and yes, I think I was the one who said using "deaf" was politically incorrect! So you did mention it before.
Regarding New Year's resolutions, Congratulations on the weight loss! Eight months is very good!
I'm always happy to help... take whatever you need, and leave the rest; I am not offended :-)
God bless you! Love, Mary Kay xoxo

I applaud you, Beth, for chronicling these times for posterity. The way we feel or felt about situations, and all the minutia that gets forgotten, is well-preserved while we are able to look at facts. When this is read, years hence, your kids and grand kids and great great children will be happy and informed. It's history.

Thank you so much Bill, I really do hope you are right and the story will be passed down through the generations. One reason I'm writing it is because I have wished my own ancestors would have left me a written story about their lives.

Oh, Beth, what a tragedy. These drug companies play God with their new pills or vaccinations. they think they can do no wrong. Even if 100 people are fine, it is still devastating to the one that isn't... and coverups make it worse. thanks for sharing. Smiles, Carol

Thank you Carol. Many of the Doctors are no different because they are so afraid of being sued of any part they may have played.

Hi Beth,
I remember when you wrote about the vaccination and your precious little baby passed away from it. You did a great job returning to that incident in this chapter. Your story flows well both in context and in time. You and your family have had an interesting life. You are doing a great job completing a book about it for your children. I will be interested to find out what the lawyer thinks and how your case plays out. Take care.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Hello Beth
You certainty told us very well of what happened to cause Susan's death I found that was difficult to read of the problems you had, and reading that passed and you believed her death was was caused by the DPT shot.

Susan was my first child born in 1960. I knew the shot killed her but the doctor didn't want to admit it. The autopsy showed it to be the cause. The drug company didn't admit a problem until many children had died or become brain damaged. Thanks so much for the review.

I'm so glad you filed that lawsuit. Evan just doesn't seem to understand that moms never recover from losing a child and you needed closure after that sudden death. I hope you'll share the result of that lawsuit.

But I'm left hanging about what happened in that meeting with that difficult manager. You started there and then went to the lawsuit so we'll have to wait for the next post to find out what happened there. I'm guessing he should have given you and Curtis a promotion! He couldn't do his job without you!

Christi. however, (comma not period)

At this point in my story, I wasn't finding him to be as bad as I had heard. He been fired himself so he was subdued and unsure if he could handle the job. So far I hadn't had a problem with him. I'll write more about the suit later. I don't mean to leave you hanging but I'm writing this in the order it happened. Thanks for the review and comments.

How interesting but so sad that you lost a child so early, I've never heard of the vaccine here, but there was a horror drug years ago that caused deformities in babies, it was called thalidomide here, lots of suing going on. Beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

We had the thalidomide babies here as well. This vaccine was supposed to protect against whooping cough, tetanus and another childhood disease. A lot of children died but no one wanted to blame the drug. Thanks for the review.
reply by royowen on 14-May-2021
Of course, it makes both the doctors and the drug look bad...and open to being sued.

This was a great chapter. Very detailed and I look forward to what turns up, later. Doctors are like that. Don't want to admit anything for fear of losing clients. No spags.

Dear Beth, No matter how your lawsuit ever ended up, I think Susan's death will continue to haunt you for the rest of your life.
But as you said in your story you were facing much more pressing current issues, particularly with your two unemployed daughters. At least your house was big enough, any of your children could come home, if they ever needed to.

Thank you Suzanne, I will never forget Susan but I didn't spend time grieving. Still I wanted someone to admit that she did die from the vaccine. She was well when she received the shot. I didn't spend a lot of time wondering about the lawsuit either. I did have too much else on my mind.
