Boy, busy, busy, busy!!! You are a bee, all right. You never told us how your parents got along with no help. Connie sounds like a headache to deal with. I am happy that Connie has found her way and is now enjoying life a little.
You certainly had an interesting life. Being retired has many rewards.
Glad to see you are busy on the computer too. Enjoy your stories.
My best,
Marie

My poor mom who was five years younger than my dad did everything I wish I could have done something to help them earlier. I'm pleased you are still reading my stories. Thank you for your comment and stars.

There were many life changes in your family during this time it seems, most being a positive step to the future and happier times. I'm glad you got out of the stress of working full-time for that company. It's hard to work full-time an overtime when your husband is already retired. Well written, Beth.

I am laughing about the gun being brought to the courthouse, not a place that guns are welcomed. Having a massage therapist in your house must have been an interesting experience. I have family members who are constantly late, I have a lateness phobia, I have to arrive at work early. Excellent memoir writing that holds the reader's interest.

Thank you for the review and comments. I had a good laugh about that gun in the courthouse thing also. Having a massage therapist was a constant aggrivation for my husband and me. I have a phobia about being late which makes it even worse to have someone in the family who has never been on time for anything.

This is a very interesting and well written post about your life and things that have happened to you and your family. It's really neat when you can go back and recall things of the past. I have a hard time remembering things due to MS at times. I enjoyed reading and reviewing. Blessings, Teri

Sorry to be late, but somewhat ill. Doing much better now, so I thought, trying to catch up like this one. So you retired yourself or progress did. I can understand Evan wanting you home. Another good one, Beth.

Thank you Chuck, I can't believe you still had a six star on Thursday. I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. I'm not at my best either. I broke a tooth and had to spend a good bit of yesterday in the dental chair to have the root of that one removed and they had to remove the one next too it also. My mouth is really sore. I thank you for the stars. I was relieved to free of that stressful job.

I'm glad you got out of that annoying job! But sorry about Carol's divorce, and especially that she held out, not changing her name, hoping he would change her mind and want her back. That was a goofy thing that happened with the gun in the court building. Court officers definitely don't like guns! But I'm glad it all worked out, and that Glen didn't get into any serious trouble. The Shelby family underwent so many changes, over the years.

Thank you so much Mary Kay. You know I really appreciate your doing so much work on my stories. Two of the corrections you listed had been initially correct, but other people had me change it. I think you have it right. One person had me remove a "that" and another one had me take the caps from Social Security.

You're very welcome, Beth. I feel bad that your reviewers are contradicting one another, as this can become very confusing! I appreciate that you have confidence in my opinions. I'm sure I can occasionally be wrong, and there is room for differences of opinion sometimes, but I hope it doesn't drive you crazy :-)
God bless you, my friend. I always say that the story is the most important thing. Love, Mary Kay xoxo

You achieved your goal with the story to bring Evan up to date. Your writing makes it very conversational as you are catching up on the goings-on with Evan. You also achieved what is the hardest part, keeping your reader engaged and interested in a personal "discussion."
Very well done
I enjoyed the read.
Regards,
Mary

You did a great job with this informative chapter, Beth. The members of your family really kept you and your husband busy dealing with all of their issues from aging parents to gun-toting in laws. I'm glad that gun issue was worked out. The massage business from your home that Connie had would have driven me nutso. I look forward to reading some more of your family's adventures in the next chapter.
Respectfully, Jan

You really were able to translate emotion and feeling in your writing for us as readers to digest, understand, and feel. I like how you brought very human and personable traits to your writing, but elevated them in the way they were presented. For example, how you were a "bit irritated" about the troublemaker getting her way--yeah, we have all been there and can relate to that very easily. Thank you for sharing!
