Life with your family was never dull! This particular chapter was a little bit like a soap opera, but the incident with Connie's friend's sister being involved in a murder plot probably had your hair standing on end. Then her friend was killed, in a drunk driving accident; it's all very tragic... the rest isn't too bad, but there really was so much going on!

Not too many errors and suggestions:

You had a good philosophy; even though your daughters used your washing machine and washed their cars so much, you were happy to see them!

Don is better with construction, than he is with cars.

And Christi has an admirer.

Thank you so much, Mary Kay. You know I always feel better about what I've written after you've had your eagle eye one and told me what I need to fix. I guess my life does sound line a soap opera sometimes, thanks to my children. They seem to attract all the drama.

You're very welcome, Beth. Yes, they do seem to attract drama, but this chapter was particularly full of twists and turns. Your love as their mother, and Evan's wife, always shines through. God bless you and your family! Love, Mary Kay xoxo

Well done retelling of this time in your life. Your kids didn't want you to be bored, it seems. I didn't get the idea of adding historical facts to your earlier chapters but now it seems like a very good idea.

What interesting lives your kids have lived, they say we can't choose our families but we can choose our friends. I must admit if God hadn't of intervened in my train wreck of my life I don't know where'd I'd be now, probably dead I suspect, but God is in the business of putting people back together, just look at the trouble His Son did to make it happen, blessings Roy

Thank you Roy. A lot of what I am writing makes my family look bad, but I'm being honest. We weren't perfect and I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Maybe my children will want to do better when they read some of the things they put us through.

You did the best you could Beth, you have nothing to reproach yourself for, our kids make their own decisions, I sometimes think I could have done better, but it is what it is. I think God intervened a lot in my foolish youth. I can only praise Him, He loved me far more than I deserve. Well done Beth, blessings Roy

I am glad you continue to recall these memories. Most of us have memories of that time period.

Connie had a lot of male friends that she did things with, but her main boyfriend, after Lenny, was J.P. ('friends who', you grammar check may say 'that' but 'who' is correct.)

He couldn't believe that the sister Carol had said so many negative things about could actually be the same person. (omit 'that')

Thank you, Barbara. I use the word "that" all the time when I'm talking and I'm trying to quit saying it so often, but it isn't easy. I have reviewer who keep wanting me to add "that". T appreciate your help.

I think it is wonderful that you're doing this and leaving a record for your children and grandchildren. I can imagine it's very helpful for you, too, to share with your husband. Thank you for sharing with us.

Thank you so much for the review and the commnts. I'm doing mostly for the children, but I don't want to leave my husband out. We had a good life, but he was quiet natured, and let me do most of the talking. I'm am afraid my children didn't really know him like I did.

It is obvious you and Evan supplied the love and security your children needed. I can tell that because home is where Mom and Dad was, not a special house they were raised in.
They know they can return when it is needed. Our children always knew they had a home with us. Can't wait to see what the summer brings to Connie's life. Well done. Nancy:)

Sam Shepard, actually, Sam Shepard Rogers, a name few know, once told me that honesty is the most important part of good writing. And I guess he knew, since he was an academy award winning actor, writer, playwright, and I'm sure anything else he set out to do. You are a wonderful example of an honest writer who pours it all out there week after week. They don't give us enough sixes to reward you every week as you deserve, but this week I won't miss the chance. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.

Thank you, Ric. I really appreciate your reviews. I am letting all the bad things as well as the good out. Some of the things I write about my family doesn't make us look so good. Our mistakes are out there for everyone to see. I'm glad you apporve of the honesty of it. I'm so pleased you feel it is worthy of six stars.

Hi Beth, It is certainly true that you never have a dull moment in your family.
It must have been a shock for Connie to find out that her best friend's sister was involved in a murder plot. I'm glad they all got caught.
In this chapter the girls don't seem all that happy.
I'm looking forward to see which direction Connie's life is taking.
As you know, I'm enjoying reading this. Ulla:)))

You certainly didn't have any dull moments in your life, Beth. Reading all this left my head spinning! I don't know how you kept track of all the boyfriends, and that murder-for-hire thing was bizarre! I like the cliff-hanger that left us wondering what was going to change Connie's life so much. Great job of telling the story.

This continues to provide a fascinating insight into family life and the cross-currents and dynamics that run between various family members. Nicely written.
