You describe what a writer feels. You describe what a human feels. Very nicely written - thoughtful and eloquent.
I don't see a lot of rhyming poems anymore, and they've always been my favorite. Thanks for the great read.

This poem was beautiful. Sometimes pain is too extreme for words, written or spoken. And, yes, when it hurts so much, time doesn't make a difference. Thanks for sharing.

I like how this poem describes the writing process and how it can be the writer is aware that putting feelings to paper can help manage emotions. Lovely poem.

This poem is well rhymed and has a deep meaning. It tells us that pain is a part of life and sometimes it effects all other part. It also reminds us that writing is cathartic and it the words will come in their own time. As long as their is hope there is life and road to new happiness.
Congrats on placing third in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan

Hello Boogienights!
So relatable and expressed with keen and moving emotion.
I found your first stanza to be particularly moving:
It's friendly, for a night this black,
it covers me just like a sheet.
The moon leaks in between the cracks,
before it settles down to sleep.

I, too, have experienced many of the thoughts you share.
Beautifully-rendered.

Thank you for sharing!

A very poignant poem, when on a dark night, she's kept awake by emotional feelings whizzing around, but even her words don't help to release, this time. I enjoyed this read, and I can relate to it. Good luck in the contest.
cheers.

This poem is wonderful. I like got caught up in it with the very first few stanzas. The rhymes and metre are on point and the ending is hopeful. A very good entry for the contest

A poignant poem - waiting for the quiet, gentleness of the night so you can write out your pain, but when it comes, you can't; too much turmoil in the mind. As morning comes, you are tired, bleak, depressed; your unwritten pain remains, cloudying the skies and tears fall; tears that you hope will relieve some of the pain. But, if or if not, there is tomorrow, and hope is there waiting.

I felt drawn into your beautifully crafted poem because your heart and soul were written into each precious line. I felt the exhaustion of pain, and I felt the longing that tomorrow might bring light. I, too, have been through such seasons.

I also suffer from those nights of doubt and shame. Whether I was able to live through another failure, then I praise God. He fills me with hope. What a wonderfully written poem. Best of luck with your writing!

Have a great day, and God bless.
