You've got my attention already. I'm eager for the next part. I like Miranda and her attitude. I hope she stays out of trouble, though. The sheriff seems more focused on her word usage than he is on the town pervert.

You did a great job with this chapter, Gretchen.
I enjoyed reading it. I liked Miranda's approach to
dealing with crazed Ed. It surprised me he was smart
enough to file a complaint. You did a great job with the
dialogue between Miranda and Mitch. Rita showed a hint
of smart using the word narcissist. Your characters' actions
were well developed and unpredictable.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Rita isn't all ditzy. She just knows Miranda will do all of the heavy lifting, so to speak. Ed is a nasty character but I don't think we've heard the last of him. Thanks so much for your great review. Gretchen

This was another great chapter. It would seem Miranda gets the wrong end of the stick all the time and is misunderstood and disbelieved. Thanks for a great addition to your wonderful story. No spags.

Thank you so much. And you're right. Only Miranda would get chastised by the police after confronting a weirdo. Thank you again for this wonderful review and rating. Gretchen

Yes, Miranda has her feet firmly planted on the ground, and one or two others haven't. I don't know what I'd do if someone like Missy Toblerone was on my case, although there was one neighbour.... Of all people Ed Preston. This is beautifully written Gretchen. Blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy. I love that you can relate to my character at least having the weird neighbor. Lol. I think things are going to get weirder before they get better. Thank you for your kind review. Gretchen.

This is a genuine writer-to-writer question: Do you know where this is all going? Do you have an outline of the plot, the characters, the chapters, the ending? Or are you making this up as you go along? It's just SOOO well-organized and layered so beautifully that I'm curious.

ANYWAY, I feel the tension mounting and progress being made on so many fronts, but I just love the way you diffuse it with these bouts of ludicrousness and hilarity, Miranda-style. The pervert files the complaint on her!! Only in Miranda's life! And the policeman who doesn't like her using the word talleywhacker!!! HAHAHAHA!! Too funny.

Anyway, everyone stays true to their character, and the plot continues to march forward, never ever stalling on the tracks.

I'm seriously first in line to buy this book, Gretchen.

I'll be honest. I thought it was headed one way but now not so sure. I just let the character tell me what to write. Never been a planner. Somehow things usually just work out. Thanks for urging me forward. Gretchen

It really does work like that, too, which is kind of cool and magical.

I can definitely understand why Miranda thought, 'Surrounded by nuts lately and I'm the one who gets a visit from the police. Our tax dollars at work.' It sort of fits doesn't it. LOL Great job of writing.

Thank you, Barbara. I appreciate your review. And I thought it only fitting that she sign off this chapter with that. Lol. Gretchen

You always seem to come up with things that make me think you have access inside my brain. I thought tallywacker was a name I had came up with as a teenager. When my grandmother had a huge bowl of plastic fruit on the kitchen table. I picked up a banana that had a hole in one end, filled it with water, then ran through the house squirting a house full of visitors as I yelled, Ooh, tallywacker. Yes, I'm still a problem child, 40-years later. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

That was quite the devilish visual you presented. Lol. I sure hope you were galloping. Cause that's how I saw it. Great review. Thank you! Gretchen

So, I missed the fact that Justin is Missy's husband? Oh, no! Okay, that explains a bit more about Missy. I will have to make assumptions until I read the next entry. Great Chapter, Gretchen. Best, JohnC

Thank you, John. Justin is indeed the missing husband. Who knows where he is gonna end up. Thanks again. Gretchen

Interesting that the pervert is calling her out for her threat, yet she was gracious enough not to report him for being a public pervert! It's a crazy world. Especially when the police are not interested in following up on a missing person just on the basis of the wife's word. Looking forward to seeing where this goes next.

Thanks, Wendy. I do appreciate this understanding review. Think Patterson County doesn't like to admit bad things happen. A lit of small, tourist spots share that trait. Thanks again. Gretchen

Poor Miranda! She gets a complaint filed against her by a sex offender (is that the right term? maybe just a pervert). She did scare Ed pretty well with the Bobbitt comment with scissors in hand. I liked Rita's TV-psychology. Maybe Rita will come up with a good solution for how Miranda should respond to Missy.

I think that's all we are getting out of Rita. Lol. Her best advice was don't piss her off. Lol. Which is exactly what Miranda will probably do. Thanks for the awesome review. Gretchen
